More Hailey Issues

Enough already, I'm starting to feel guilty about my pregnancy with Hailey...Did I eat the right foods, did I take enough vitamins etc. When they placed little Hailey in my arms she looked as healthy as could be, but little by little her medical records are filling up with one health issue after another.
I will say that I was so thankful for the speakers at the adult session of our stake conference, because they made me put our little health trials with our own children into perspective. Compared to them and many others, the health issues in our home have been so small, and we are so grateful for that. That being said, we still have to ask when is it all gonna end?
So here's the deal for those of you who don't know Hailey's latest issue. Hailey had a fairly bad urinary tract infection a month and half ago, so the pediatrician sent us to the hospital to have an ultrasound done. I do not know for the life of me what the actual test is called, but basically they pumped her bladder full of iodine, then watched her pee. Well, the doctors and I did not expect to see any problems, but apparently Hailey does have a problem with one of her kidneys (I should have seen that one coming). The test showed her urine traveling back up to her right kidney, which as you might imagine is not a good thing.
After about a week of waiting , we finally talked with a specialist about treatment. Sometime in the next month Hailey will have a minor surgery to correct what they call a reflux. They will go inside her with a camera and small needle and inject a small object that will stop the urine from traveling back up to her kidney. Thankfully this should only take about 5-10 minutes to do if all goes well. I am so thankful that this is all it takes to correct the problem, and for now we are OK with the whole idea, though I'm sure if you talk to me on the day of surgery I will have very different feelings.

Finally a sunny day!

Last Friday my family and I finally got a wonderful glimpse of an early Spring! I hope many of you local friends were able to enjoy the sunshine and 60 degree weather. When I see sunshine this time of year, I get that inch for spring cleaning, and watch out because I will clean anything in my path.

After weeks of sick children my home has become more than a little out of order, and in much need of a face lift. When the sun came out I took advantage of the boost of moral and energy and was super Mom for a day. Kelly and I worked on the cars, I mowed the lawn, weeded the garden, did some other much needed yard work, cleaned the kitchen, did ALL the laundry, cleaned out 2/3 of the garage, took a huge load to Good Will, and on top of it all took my babies to the park for a picnic. Needless to say I was so proud of myself, and felt so on top of things for a day. It was wonderful.

Hailey's Swimm Class

Over the past five weeks Hailey and I decided to take a toddler swim class with her Aunt Lisa and cousin Ben. Hailey had such a great time going two days a week, and it was a blast for me to get to spend that alone time with her. It was so amazing to watch how much her swimming abilities grew in that short time. She and Ben were never afraid of the water, and often wanted to jump in without their mommies several times. It did however take some coaxing to get Hailey to perform tasks such as putting her face under water, and wearing a life jacket. Today on her last day of class, Hailey was extra cooperative, and showing off for her Grandma who was watching from the bleachers. She made Hailey and Ben feel very special...we love her for all she does for us (thanks Mom).

This has nothing to do with this post of coarse, but how stinking sweet is this picture? I love it!

Alright already you guys...I promise I will post again soon. I have been way wrapped up in sick kid after sick kid, after yet again sick kid. This week I have been very sick on top of that, and boy did it hit me hard. I was lying in bed yesterday thinking how on earth my mother and many others like her took care of 9 children or more while they were sick? I still haven't figured out how they did it, and 2 has been almost more than I can handle. We were previously discussing getting pregnant around our anniversary in May, but...We suddenly realized we aren't nuts, and December is starting to look really good! I guess we will have to see. Sorry for the lack of picture, but a picture of me or my children sick just didn't seem very appealing :)

I love this boy!

I decided it was time to update my blog, and what better thing to update with than my sweet little boy. I love this sweet baby boy so much, and he has been such a blessing in our home. His sister adores him, him parents adore him, his grandparents and so on...He's just a great kid. When I found out I was having a boy I have to admit I was less than thrilled, but who new how great boys could be? I guess you have to have one to really know how sweet and cuddly boys are. So here are some recent pictures of our little guy that capture his cute little personality...enjoy!

Bowling With Babies

I just threw this picture in because Travis looks so dang cute!

We were lucky enough to have Kelly's parents here with us for a few days around New Years. Hailey and Travis completely ate up all the attention, and loved every minute of it. I think Hailey's favorite part was the night we went bowing. I never thought toddlers could go bowling, but with a little help from family and some bumpers it was very possible, and is now one of Hailey's favorite things.

Hailey was so into knocking down those pins. The child wouldn't take her eyes off the ball until she saw how many pins she hit, it was so cute!

All in all, we had a great time with family, and were very amused watching our toddler out-bowl almost all of us in the second game, and sadly I'm not lying. It was a blast, and we will hopefully go again soon for family home evening.

Christmas Highlights

I thought I would show some fun pictures from Christmas 2008 with the Weber's. This picture was taken at my Mothers home...the presents pile up when there is so much family around....and when your mother is sooo dang giving (we love you Mom!)

Whenever someone asked Hailey what she wanted for Christmas, she answered "a bicycle." Well Santa brought her what she asked for, and she was so excited to open up that bike on Christmas morning...yes we wrapped it.

Travis loved to open his presents as well, although there were no special gifts on his list :)

We always act out the Nativity at my parents house, and we often have to get very creative with the costumes. You know, a robe, a dirty shirt, a towel, a bunny ear headband? We were trying to make Travis look like a sheep, and Hailey was an angel. I think we came close right?

All of the Russ and Linda Bevans Grandchildren in town get a visit from Santa each year. I guess we are just really special, and so good that he goes out of his way to visit us, ha ha. Hailey wanted nothing to do with him, and screamed when he walked through the door. It's amazing what a present can do for a child. She sat on his lap just long enough to get it!

Travis had no worries about the fat man in the red suit...in fact they even sort of resembled one another. They became quick buddies. We enjoyed having Travis as an addition to our home this Christmas. We have two of the greatest kids ever!!!
