Christmas cuties

Kelly went to pick up Hailey from preschool the other day, and to my surprise brought home Rudolph the red nosed reindeer instead! How cute is that, I love preschool crafts!

I had to throw this in because we died laughing when we found her like this. Hailey threw an absolute fit at bedtime that night, so we just let her scream and cry until she wore herself out...and boy did it work. We went to check on her once it was quiet, and to our surprise we hit her with the door as it opened. How does one fall asleep sitting up? She was sound asleep sitting right next to the door, it was hilarious.

Here are the kids matching Christmas Jammie's (I decided I couldn't wait until Christmas eve, so I will just take them back and wrap them, and the kids will never know the difference right). They were so excited about them, and were dancing and putting on a show for us.

You can see their individual stages, they will stand and dance on whatever they can find...unfortunately. I sure enjoy those two cuties though, and they make the holidays worthwhile.

Holiday Happenings

Remember last memorial weekend when this happened?...
We lost our air bag due to Kelly being slightly careless.

Well, now Kelly decided to rear end another student on his way to school, ironically right after he had just taken it in and had some work done. I think he has however make some real improvements in it's looks, ha ha. Look at that classy light he bolted to the bumper. People keep saying that all we need is duct tape to make the look complete. I am so embarrassed :)

Well I jumped the gun in the order of these pictures, but when we got our Christmas tree home, Hailey and Daddy put the star on the tree first, as is tradition.

My cuties in front of the decorated tree. They were good helpers, or at least they thought they were.

This was our adventure in searching for the perfect tree. I am so particular when it comes to finding the perfect tree, but after about an hour of searching, there it was in all it's glory. It was so cold, but the kids still had a blast.

Travis loved playing on this muddy make shift bridge, and fell off many times into the slippery mud below.

Hailey was at preschool while we searched for the tree, but we picked her up and brought her to the tree lot to approve my choice. She was so excited, and couldn't wait to get it home... and get out of the cold

On Saturday we went to the annual creche exhibit, and had our pictures taken as the nativity. Hailey was Mary...

Travis was her Joseph, and Kelly and I were shepherds.

They are so cute! Hailey was OK with Travis being Joseph, but requested that cousin Ben be her Joseph instead. He also pouted about the matter, so we had to let them be Mary and Joseph together to make them happy.

They too were adorable, and were beaming for the camera.

This picture says it all, Mary loves her Joseph, while he admires the baby Jesus. I love it!

October Fun

Brace yourselves for a lot of photos! We had a great time this Halloween season, and here the pictures to prove it. It all started with the pumpkin patch, although Daddy was not there to enjoy it with us this year (blast that schooling anyway). We planned to go with him another day, but then I got very sick (no, it's not swine flu) and we never made it :(
Hailey chose a much smaller pumpkin this year.

And Travis did a lot of tripping over vines and falling down, and a lot of pointing as seen here.

Hailey and Grandma on the Wagon ride to the pumpkins.

Judging from her face, cousin Emily was tired of taking Travis through the hay maze over and over, but he was loving every minute of it.

And here is the love of my life! Yes, he wore a mullet for me. This was our take on Joe Dirt, or just a really white trash guy from Idaho. This picture really does not do the costume justice...I will have to post a close up of his face so the excellent side burns can be seen.

And carving our store bought pumpkin. This was Kelly's last stitch effort to let the kiddos participate in our usual festivities. Since we did not get pumpkins from the pumpkin patch this year, Albertsons had to do. Again, I was very sick, and this was a miserable Halloween for me.

I think they look kind of similar, don't you?

Travis just wanted to touch the flame inside.

And their Halloween costumes. Hailey was our little pirate...

And a darn cute one at that.

And Travis was our unhappy little dinosaur. He hated the hood!

We just pretend that he was roaring, not crying.

Hailey was very excited that cousin Ben was a pirate too. In fact, I think that influenced her costume decision.

And boy did they score. And yes, we are bad parents who let our children gorge themselves on candy.

And our kids couldn't be happier :)

Hailey comes home!!!

Hooray!!! Hailey finally comes home today, and we are so excited to see that little girl again after a week and a half. I can tell that Travis misses his sister, and before he knows it they will back to this...
this...

and this. I know he looks upset, but deep- down I think he likes it :)

Don't worry Travis, sister is almost home!

Off to Disneyland!

I must be nuts, because I just let my little 3 year old go to Disneyland without me!!! I am still in shock at how brave I am to let her leave me not just overnight, but over 9 nights. Oh I have a feeling a lot of tears will be shed on my part over the next week and a half.

I know that Hailey is going to have the time of her life with her grandparents, and she was so excited to go. She is so stinking cute, so I know that every moment with her will be priceless for them. In some ways I sure wish I could be there with her, but I also am looking forward to 1 on 1 time with her little brother. I will post again in a few days, and that will be the moment of truth for how well I am really handling this.

On another note, I had to show this, being the proud mama that I am. This paper came home from preschool the other day, and I was so impressed that Hailey could write her name. She learned her letters at a young age, but I have not taught her how to write more than a letter "H", so I was quite impressed. Who new she could write her name? Certainly not Kelly and I. What a smarty. (She takes after her mother, ha ha )

First Day of Preschool

Last Tuesday was my baby girls first day of preschool. Wow, how time flies. I know it's only preschool, but it makes me feel old and nostalgic all the same. Hailey was so excited to go, and even more excited when she ran into cousin Ben on her way in. (Notice how she is all decked out in her fall leaf dress, since it was the first official day of fall :)

Hailey had to hang her jacket on the letter"H" of coarse, and Ben chose the ice cream cone.

When we came to pick them up, Hailey was a little booger! She was definitely ready for a nap, and was very upset that she did not get to paint. She thought she could have a turn doing everything before she went home, and mean mommy had to burst her bubble. This was the closest thing to a smile I could get out of her after the fit.

And the kiddos in front of the North Eugen High School sign. This is where I went to school, and preschool for that matter. It's fun to see toys and activities that I remember as a small child. Little Hailey grows smarter and more aware every day, and I look forward to watching her grow and develop even more this school year.
